GO Virginia will fund manufacturing and engineering programs at Richard Bland College and VSU
Richard Bland’s grant boosts new work-study program, while the VSU money will help out with an engineering internship
“Projects driven by the area’s two colleges to advance manufacturing and engineering education are among 15 initiatives statewide that will share $6.3 million in new state grants, the governor’s office announced Friday.
The Federation of Advanced Manufacturing Education [FAME] at Richard Bland College will receive $613,000, and the Engineering Interns + Manufacturers = Success Squared (S2) program through Virginia State University will receive $39,200 from Growth and Opportunity for Virginia. GO Virginia is a business collaboration created to spark private-sector growth by providing monetary incentives for regional partnerships.”
